LOCAL
AMATEUR RADIO NEWS
|
The KX4EOC repeater
is located in St. Johns County Florida, on the west side of I-95,
just south of State Road 16. The tower can be seen from I-95 and
is adjacent to the St. Johns County Emergency Operatons Center and
the agency we serve, St. Johns County Emergency Management.
As required by regulation,
the repeater identifies itself every 10 minutes, alternating between
recorded voice and Morse Code.
When not in use
for emergencies, special events or training nets, the repeater is
available for routine use by any licensed amateur operator. Your
participation is welcommed and we ask only that the repeater be
used in a professional and couteous manner in keeping with the spirit
of amateur radio tradition.
Use of the repeater
requires observation of the following minimum operating standards
at all time:
1. Emergency, priority
and any ARES-related traffic have priority on the repeater.
2. Give break-in
traffic immediate attention to determine the nature of their traffic.
Assist as needed.
3. Profanity, obscene
or lewd comments and negative references to others based on gender,
ethnicity, race, sexual preference or religion is expressely prohibited.
4. Don't dominate
the frequency. Take time out periodically to allow others to join
in or make a call.
5. Always remember
that there are others listening and violations will be reported
to the proper authorities.
New EE3 Antennas
are available. Please contact either Peter, KC1SS or Bob, WN1B for
details.
